Betty Slaughter Wesley

Leonard and I are enjoying our retirement with our sons and grandchildren. Alan lives here in Wichita with his wife and daughter, and Lennie lives in Suwanee, Ga with his wife and two children. I am still an active member of Wichita Alumnae Chaper of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. We are active in our CME church, Wichita Chapter of Links, Inc., and participate in other community events.

My line sisters and I gave our big sisters some headaches, and they were glad to see us go over. My own sister, Rosalee, was a Delta, and she was definitely glad to see me complete initiation before we got them in trouble, and she would have to answer to our mother. During the scavenger hunt, we convinced two Pittsburg policemen to take us to the initiation house and play a joke on our big sisters. You should have seen their faces!
