Archie entered Pittsburg in 1964 from Beaumont High School in St. Louis, Mo. He was a quarterback for the football team and starred on the basketball team. Archie had a beautiful jump shot. His basketball name was “The Pole”. While at Pittsburg he majored in Basketball with a double minor, Earnestine and Education. Archie played with Pitt State basketball Gorillas , where he had the saying, “Number 15 on your scorecard, number 1 in your heart”. Archie had a beautiful voice and would break out into song at the drop of a hat. If he was not singing, he was probably reciting one of his favorite poems. Whenever you feel sad, take time to remember your favorite “Archie Story”. It will raise your spirits and make you smile.
